Industrial Pumps in Power Plants
Industrial Pumps In the power station
Electric power is essential to the function of any civilized nation. When compared to nuclear power, hydropower, and wind power, the sustainable and stable development of thermoelectricity usually is a primary national goal, as it contributes to the coordinated development of the national economy and the improvement of people’s living standards. Modern thermoelectricity involves system engineering composed of many systems and equipment, with industrial pumps being an important piece of auxiliary equipment. Examples of their use in the industry include the following:
2.1 Boiler feed pump
The boiler feed pumps are used to deliver water to the boiler. Efficiency and reliability are two important indexes. Generally, segmental or horizontal split multistage centrifugal pumps are used.
2.2 Condensate pump
The condensate pumps are used to send condensed water to the heater to be reused as boiler water. High cavitation resistance is required. Generally, horizontal or vertical single-stage or multi-stage centrifugal pumps are used.
2.3 Circulating water pump
The circulating water pumps are used to send cooling water to the condenser, generally from the river or the sea. The head is not high, but the flow is large. In this application, they are required to be able to adjust the flow and head according to the load change. Sometimes, it is also necessary that the material that overflow parts are constructed to be resistant to seawater corrosion. The circulating water pump of large thermal power units basically adopts vertical, diagonal flow pumps, which are gradually replacing volute-type mixed flow pumps and axial flow pumps with higher lift.
2.4 Slurry pump
Slurry pumps are used to transport ash, slag, and water from the boiler furnace to the ash storage yard. The flow passage parts of the pump must be made of wear-resistant materials, and the hydraulic structure must adapt to the impact of erosion and wear. Generally, centrifugal slurry pumps or reciprocating slurry pumps are used.
2.5 Water ring vacuum pump
Vacuum pumps are used as vacuuming condensers. They must have reliable performance and low starting energy consumption. In normal operation, the gas volume is large, and the energy consumption is low, and the vacuum degree is required to be further improved. The basic structure types are single axial action, double axial action, and radial double action.
2.6 Metering pump
Metering pumps are used to inject phosphate, ammonia liquid, hydrazine liquid, flocculation liquid, coagulant aid, alkali, and concentrated sulfuric acid into chemical dosing and wastewater dosing devices. They must be able to accurately adjust flow and transport fluid according to the value on the flow, indicating mechanism through the flow regulating mechanism. These are generally reciprocating (or rotary) positive displacement pumps, single-acting plunger pumps, or diaphragm pumps.
2.7 Boiler forced circulation pump
Circulation pumps are used to circulate boiler water through the system of subcritical auxiliary circulation drum boilers, and pressure critical or supercritical composite circulation boilers to complete the forced circulation. In this setting, they must be able to withstand changes in high temperature and pressure while maintaining a seal. These are generally vertical single-stage centrifugal pumps.
2.8 Desulphurization pumps for FGD system
Desulphurization pumps are used to transport desulfurization slurry for the flue gas desulfurization process. This pump could meet the requirements of parallel operation. Our model has idling capabilities, high suction performance, reliable sealing, and long operative life (currently 24000 hours). These are generally centrifugal slurry pumps.
Others
Other applications include industrial pumps for lubrication and water treatment systems.
